Where we are: We still live in Seattle, and as of 9/00, we own a home in the Wedgwood neighborhood. We anticipate staying here for the foreseeable future. Family news: We added a third member to our family in 11/99. Maggie is a 50-pound chocolate Labrador Retriever, and she is a very sweet dog. Our family grew again on 02/01/02 with the birth of our son, Zachariah Xavier Sutter (Zack). He has his own page of photos and news. What we do: Mandy is a Registered Health Information Adminstrator (RHIA), and she is currently employed as a Software Test Engineer at IDX Systems Corporation. As of December 2001, Nate has completed a PhD from the Molecular and Cellular Biology program at the University of Washington. He is now working as a postdoc fellow at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. More miscellaneous information about what we've been doing: We attend the Green Lake Church of Seventh-day Adventists. We've met many of our wonderful friends here. And in the summer, Nate plays on the church's softball team. One of our favorite things to do is to host food-related events at our house. We've hosted potlucks, dinner parties, and our Bible study group's supper and study. Before Zack was born, we took several swing and waltz classes through Living Traditions Dance. We were afraid we wouldn't make it through the first six-week-long swing class, but we did, and we've taken several more six-week-long classes. We love to hike the Washington mountains. The Washington Trail Association Online site is a great resource for recent trail updates. Our local zoo, Woodland Park Zoo, is quite nice. We have annual memberships but don't go as often as Nate would like. Our favorite animal exhibits are the otters, the orangutans, and the new baby elephant. We often take Maggie to the off-leash area at nearby Magnuson Park so she can run and swim. |
